Alpine Ventures is a small, family run business operated by Chris and Jan Ainsworth which specialises in organising and leading tailor-made mountain activity holidays in the beautiful Ecrins, Vercors, Bauges and Chartreuse regions of the French Alps. We cater for small groups and families in particular.

Our aim is to help you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life by exploring little known areas of the French Alps, far away from the traditional haunts of the tourist.

We are based near Villard St. Christophe, a small alpine farming village on the little known Mathesine Plateau, 20 km south of Grenoble. The plateau is superbly located between the spectacular Ecrins National Park with its glaciers and numerous 3000 metre peaks and the contrasting Vercors National Park with its stunning limestone scenery and protected wildlife sanctuary. Only slightly further afield are the Bauges, Chartreuse and Devoluy mountain ranges which offer idyllic and unspoiled walking and trekking opportunities.
